Job Description Summary:
To supervise the Adult Education College Prep Program which helps students transition into post-secondary and workforce training through the use of innovative and student centered programming.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks ​

1) Supervises, trains, coaches, directs, coordinates, and disciplines personnel while adhering to organizational human resource policies and procedures as well as related employment laws. Recommends hire and termination personnel actions for positions supervised.
2) Creates and coordinates College Prep Math, Integrated Reading and Writing and Student Success classes. Develops curriculum that is student centered, innovative, and promotes student learning and success at the post-secondary level.
3) Integrates College and Career Readiness Standards into AE curriculum.
4) Meets with key partnership personnel, provides annual statistics and reports, assists with logistical changes, and improvements to programs. May include managing a program budget and purchasing books, supplies, and testing materials.
5) Promotes and markets the the College Prep Program to internal ACC audiences and community partners.
6) Evaluates and maintains records such as test scores and statistics, class contact hours, attendance, instructor comments, and class grades.
7) Works with Adult Education data and enrollment teams to maintain and design student data systems to meet ACC requirements and grant compliance. Assists with monitoring as needed.
8) Assists with student intake and other events that pertain to the promotion and recruitment of students; may assist with providing transcripts to students.
9) Provides assistance to students, instructors, and Austin Community College and partner agency staff with issues arising in the classroom and provides solutions with measurable outcomes.
10) Monitors local, state, and national initiatives and best practices in career and college transitional programs.
11) May assist in writing annual grant applications.
12) Attend regular AE manager meetings and other college meetings.

Required Work Experience ​

  • Two years related work experience including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Completion of the ACC Supervisor Certificate Series Program will satisfy the supervisory experience required for this position.

Required Education ​

  • Bachelor’s degree.

Special Requirements ​

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.

Physical Requirements ​

  • Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$45,537 – $65,055

Full-time faculty and staffing table employees who work in full-time and/or part-time positions at the college are eligible for ACC medical benefits effective the first of the month after their first 60 days of employment. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, retirement plans and AD&D.

ACC does not participate in Social Security. ACC participates in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS) and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP-Faculty and Administrators Only). Part-time and Hourly employees participate in the ACC Money Purchase Plan (ACCMPP) as a retirement program required by federal law.
