The incumbent is responsible for providing leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive educational program for the agriculture area of the ASU Extension Program in a designated geographic region of the state.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develops work partnerships with relevant local organizations, agencies, and institutions to deliver educational programs, events, and activities
  • Works with producers and agricultural related associated to explore strategies for improving production and profitability based on environmentally sound recommendations
  • Conducts on-farm demonstrations utilizing current research-based information emphasizing soil preparation and quality; production, harvesting and the marketing of alternative crops
  • Maintains a working relationship with Extension Specialists and other Area Extension Educators to develop and implement project proposals in high priority areas
  • Implements educational programs regarding farm management including financial management, herd health, management and business analysis, risk management employing workshops, short courses, tours, demonstrations, and other appropriate teaching and delivery methods
  • Other related duties as assigned
